            A result of the Green Chemistry Research Team of the School of Chemistry and Materials published in the internationally renowned academic journal JACS

            On September 29, the Journal of the American Chemical Society(JACS, American Chemical Society Magazine), a top international Journal ofchemistry, published the original results of the green chemistry research teamof our school of Chemical materials(Selectiveoxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acidusing O2  and a photocatalyst of Co-thioporphyrazine bonded tog-C3N4, 2017, refer to http://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/jacs.7b08861). The first author of the paper is Xu Shuai, a 2015 graduatestudent in Physical Chemistry major of our university. The correspondingauthors of the paper are Associate Professor Zhang Zehui and Professor DengKejian. This paper is the first time that the scientific research workconducted independently by SCUN has been reported on JACS.

The research work wasrecommended and assisted by Huaiyong Zhu, a distinguished professor from ouruniversity and Queensland University of Technology.

            In recent years, Zhang Zehui and Deng Kejian, two teachers of thephotocatalytic research group of the green chemistry research team of theSchool of Chemistry and Materials, have jointly carried out a series ofimportant scientific research and achieved innovative results in the field ofgreen bionic photocatalysis. In early 2017, associate professor Zhang Zehui, amember of the team, has published important results in the journal ScienceAdvances(ScienceSub-Journal) as acorresponding author.

            JACS is the topcomprehensive magazine in chemical and materials fields, covering the majorresearch fields of inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physicochemical,organic chemistry, and macromolecular chemistry. The publication of theresearch results marks a new step for the green chemistry research team of thecollege of chemistry and materials science in the field of green bioniccatalysis.
